DUMAGUETE CITY, Oct. 17 (PIA) -- The IPI Foundation Inc. has donated a large volume of Antimos 1-SG Temephos 1% or anti-dengue larvicide to Dumaguete City as part of the company's Dengue Prevention campaign project.

Dumaguete City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla, representing Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, formally received the shipment of the larvicide.

Antimos 1-SG is a granular mosquito larvicide made in Mexico that can be applied to any bodies of water to destroy the breeding grounds of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.

Remollo has deployed health workers to conduct weekly medical mission and information drive against dengue and COVID-19 in the barangays.

The generous donation is part of IPI Foundation Inc. Aid Program to eradicate dengue cases particularly in the marginalized communities.

Among those who received the anti-dengue larvicide are Anti-Dengue Coordinator Leticia Flores as well as city health nurses Primrose Bueno and Marichu Banjao.

Meanwhile, the City Health Office also thanked the Negros Oriental Medical Society for donating several KN95 and disposable face masks, infrared thermometer, PPEs, hair caps, show covers, googles, hand gloves, and crestor safety googles.

The donated items from NOMS have been utilized by various health workers and by Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs as part of the efforts to contain COVID-19. (jct/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from CPIO Dems Demecillo)
